Avoid Splashback - take action now

Hi All

There have been a couple of occasions when the coffee plunger has been used and when pushing down to complete the process of brewing the coffee the contents have splashed-back up and out of the plunger – this is quite dangerous with boiling water.

We have checked the coffee plungers – the process to avoid the splash-back is to put the boiling water into the coffee granules, give it a stir with a fork/spoon, put the plunger in to the point of resistance which should only to the top of the plunger – let the coffee/water sit for a couple of minutes before pushing the plunger all the way down … you will notice if you do this that air slowly gets into the contents and allows the pushing down to continue without resistance or splash-back.

If this process is not working for you and the splash-back still occurs please let me know and I will attempt return the 2x “Zip” coffee plungers back to Briscoes and purchase a “Bodum” – in the meantime please be careful and practice safe coffee making procedures.

Thanks for your time.
